Pregnant Opossum Clings And Does Not Stop Hugging Her Savior

Judy Obregon discovered a pregnant opossum and, despite the fact that she appeared to be lifeless, she stopped, saving the life of the helpless animal. Judy was driving when she noticed what appeared to be a lifeless opossum on the road, but as she got a closer look, the little animal lifted its head.

Judy approached her and noticed that girl was not only injured, but also pregnant; she had obviously been shot with a pellet pistol.

Judy told The Dodo:

“I knew I couldn’t just walk away.”

She put the possum in a box and took it to her mother-in-law’s house until Tabatha, a wildlife rehabilitator, arrived.

Tabatha said:

“She didn’t try to bite me once. She knows I’m here to help her, not hurt her. I think she has chances.”

The poor opossum, named Angel, was scared but she hugged Tabatha’s husband to feel safe.

Judy, who is the founder of an animal rescue center in Fort Worth, Texas, experiences these types of situations daily, since she rescues dogs and cats.

Judi said:

“It was not something typical, because I usually rescue dogs and cats. This is out of the ordinary for me, but I wouldn’t have missed it. It is a living animal, and her heart was beating when I found her.”
